Le DRIADI e le AMADRIADE

Nella mitologia greca le fate della terra si chiamano Driadi e sono le ninfe dei boschi, figlie di Nerèo e di Dori; vivono nelle foreste e sono creature degli alberi di quercia (dryas= quercia). Le driadi erano ninfe che vivevano nei boschi e ne incarnavano la forza e il rigoglio vegetativo. Amadriade: mitologia greca. Ninfa dei boschi, che nasceva e moriva, a differenza della driade che era immortale, insieme con l'albero che le era sacro. Poiché la driade moriva quando il suo albero crollava, spesso gli dei punivano chi aveva causato quella distruzione.
